Jim Fuller serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of MEAG Power. He has more than 39 years of experience in the public power arena, and has been employed by MEAG Power since 1997. Before being elected President and CEO in 2016, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He is a Certified Public Accountant, received his undergraduate degree from Western New England College and holds a master’s from Bentley College.
Fuller currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Energy Authority, the nation’s leader in public power energy trading, risk management and advisory services; serves on the Board of the Large Public Power Council, an organization comprising the 26 largest public power utilities in the United States; and on the Board of Governors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Pete Degnan is MEAG Power’s in-house general counsel. He joined MEAG Power after serving as the agency’s general counsel at the Atlanta law firm Alston & Bird. Degnan has extensive experience in all aspects of the utility industry, including negotiating and drafting long-term power agreements and structuring new project transactions. He also helped lead MEAG Power’s efforts in developing Plant Vogtle 3&4.
Degnan is an experienced civil litigator who has tried more than 100 cases during his career. He has worked on constitutional challenges to the actions of local and state governments, as well as complex commercial contract claims. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and earned his law degree at Syracuse University. Degnan is listed as one of the leading Georgia lawyers representing utilities in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in America and Georgia Super Lawyers magazine.
Edward Easterlin serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for MEAG Power. He has more than 25 years of utility financial experience across areas including finance, audit, treasury, risk management, budgeting and forecasting. He has been a key financial team member at several public power entities, including Colorado Springs Utilities, South Carolina Public Service Authority and, before joining MEAG Power in 2016, as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Omaha Public Power District.
Easterlin has been active in public power trade organizations for many years and has previously served as chairman of the Business & Finance Section for the American Public Power Association. He has both a Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Charleston Southern University. In addition, he holds an Associate’s degree in Nuclear and Chemical Engineering Technology from Trident Technical College. He is a 2010 graduate of the Reactor Technology Course for Utility Executives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering and the National Academy for Nuclear Training.
Steve Jackson serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for MEAG Power. He has 37 years of utility experience, specializing in power generation construction and utility operations. Jackson worked for Big Rivers Electric Corporation and Tennessee Valley Authority in various engineering positions prior to joining MEAG Power in 1995.
He is an Advisory Committee member for The Energy Authority, the nation’s leader in public power energy trading, risk management and advisory services. He also serves on the Board for the Georgia Energy and Industrial Construction Consortium (GEICC). Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Evansville and has been registered as a Professional Engineer in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Doug Lego serves as Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for MEAG Power. He has over 30 years’ utility experience in electric transmission, distribution and telecommunications. In addition to his 26 years at MEAG Power, Lego worked at Georgia Public Web, Inc., in various senior management positions and at Florida Power and Light as a distribution service planner.
He currently serves on SERC Reliability Corporation’s Board of Directors as well as its Board Executive Committee, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Previous associations include American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Telecom Committee and Lucent Technologies’ Network Advisory Board. Lego holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Florida Southern College, and both a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management of Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
